Oswald , and proving unanimous in his favour , he was duly initiated . The election of W . M . for the ensuing year was then proceeded with , and the S . W ., Bro . Hyland , was unanimously voted to the chair of K . S . Bro . Hyland returned thanks in a few well-chosen words . Bro . Dr . H . G . Thompson was re-elected Treasurer , and Bro . Bowler , Tvler . The W . M . was requested to withdraw for a short time , and the request
having been complied with , Bro . S . Lambert toik the chair . Bro . Chumley then moved — "That the lodge bestow on the W . M ., Bro . Sydney Edridge , P . J . G . W ., a Past Master's jewel , of the usual value , as a mark of respect and esteem , and for his distinguished services to Masonry . " This was seconded by Bro . Dr . Thompson , and carried unanimously . Bro . Edridge having returned thanks , Bro . S . N . Lambert announced trie fact to him of a jewel being voted , at the same time offering him the congratulations of the lodge and himself on the great honour conferred upon him by the Provincial Grand Master by selecting him as Prov . J . G . W . Bro . Edridge returned thanks in a few words . Letters were afterwards read , an 1 the lodge was closed .
The brethren then sat down to an excellent banquet , and the usual toast list was gone through . The W . M . remarked that he felt somewhat sad that his year of office was drawing to a close , and thanked his officers for their valuable assistance during the past year . "The Health of the W . M . " was received with " Surrey fire" and cheering by the brethren , who one and all thoroughly appreciate the great services he has rendered to the Craft in general and to the Addiscimbe Lodge in particular . Briggs responded on behalf of "The Grand Officers . " In the course of his speech , he alluded to the circumstance that Bro , G . Everett , since the last meeting of the lodge , had been honoured with a collar in Grand Mark Lodge , and he ( the speaker ) regretted that that worthy brother had not been well enough to attend their proceedings that day .

PRESENTATION TO BRO . SHERIFF-ELECT R . H . ROGERS .
The presentation to Bro . Deputy and Sheriff-Elect R . H . Rogers of his shrieval collar and badge took place at Brewers' Hall , on Wednesday , the 23 rd inst , in the presence of many inhabitants of the Wards of Cripplegate Within and Without . The badge and chain was designed and manufactured by Bros . George Kenning and Son , Little Britain , E . C .
The Badge consists of a raised and burnished framework , entwined with Acanthus leaves and ornamental filigree ; upon this appears in high relief the full ccat-of-arms of Mr . Sheriff Rogers . This is richly enamelled in correct heraldic co ' ours , and forms the upper part of Badge . Underneath are two shields bearing the arms of the City Companies of which the Sheriff is a Liveryman ; on the left that of the Loriners , and on the right the Spectacle Makers . The base of the Bidge is formed by the arms of the City of London , beautifully enamelled and
modelled . The whole Badge is fashioned in 18-carat gold ; London hall-marked . The Chain is composed of 16 ornamental devices , in keeping with the general character of the Badge ; in 18-carat gold ; London hall-: mrked . These are very massive , and are connected one with another by two lengths of heavy "curb" pattern chain . Each contains adorned medallion , upon which is painted a miniature representing some important feature in the life of Mr . Sheriff Reg ; rs . The centre link from which the Badge is suspended contains a painting ot old
' Cripplegate , " and , being surrounded by laurel leaves and flanked by cornucopia , forms a device indicative of the prosperity of the Sheriff's Ward . The other subjects depicted are St . Giles ' s Church , Cripplegate ; St . Mary the Virgin , Aldermanbury ; Bexley Old Chwch ; the Guildhall ; the Guildhall School of Music ; the Arms of Kent , th . e Irish Society , and Coleraine ; a Past Master ' s emblem of office , beside the Sheriff's initials , the City motto , and arms of Companies already mentioned .

PRESENTATION TO BRO . SHERIFF-ELECT R . H . ROGERS .
The presentation to Bro . Deputy and Sheriff-Elect R . H . Rogers of his shrieval collar and badge took place at Brewers' Hall , on Wednesday , the 23 rd inst , in the presence of many inhabitants of the Wards of Cripplegate Within and Without . The badge and chain was designed and manufactured by Bros . George Kenning and Son , Little Britain , E . C .
The Badge consists of a raised and burnished framework , entwined with Acanthus leaves and ornamental filigree ; upon this appears in high relief the full ccat-of-arms of Mr . Sheriff Rogers . This is richly enamelled in correct heraldic co ' ours , and forms the upper part of Badge . Underneath are two shields bearing the arms of the City Companies of which the Sheriff is a Liveryman ; on the left that of the Loriners , and on the right the Spectacle Makers . The base of the Bidge is formed by the arms of the City of London , beautifully enamelled and
modelled . The whole Badge is fashioned in 18-carat gold ; London hall-marked . The Chain is composed of 16 ornamental devices , in keeping with the general character of the Badge ; in 18-carat gold ; London hall-: mrked . These are very massive , and are connected one with another by two lengths of heavy "curb" pattern chain . Each contains adorned medallion , upon which is painted a miniature representing some important feature in the life of Mr . Sheriff Reg ; rs . The centre link from which the Badge is suspended contains a painting ot old
' Cripplegate , " and , being surrounded by laurel leaves and flanked by cornucopia , forms a device indicative of the prosperity of the Sheriff's Ward . The other subjects depicted are St . Giles ' s Church , Cripplegate ; St . Mary the Virgin , Aldermanbury ; Bexley Old Chwch ; the Guildhall ; the Guildhall School of Music ; the Arms of Kent , th . e Irish Society , and Coleraine ; a Past Master ' s emblem of office , beside the Sheriff's initials , the City motto , and arms of Companies already mentioned .
