impressed with the ceremony which was so ably rendered . Comps . Lee and Capel acknowledged the toast of " The Visitors . " The M . E . Z . then proposed "The Health of Comps . Cleave , P ; Z ., and Langton , P . Z ., S . E ., " thanking them both for the services they had rendered the chanter . Comp . J . R . Cleave , P . Z ., expressed his gratification at seeing Comp . Goode in the chair , and also at seeing Corrp . West present . He was also pleased at the prosperous state of the chapter . After struggling for some years he was glad to say they had more than turned the corner .
Comp . J . D . Langton , P . Z ., S . E ., said they owed a great deal to Comp . Cleave toe the spirit he had infused into the chapter . It was 14 years since he occupied the chair in this chapter , and he was pleased to see the number ot members increasing . Anything he could do as S . E . would be gladly done . Earl of Carnarvon Lodge , No . 211 . INSTALLATION BANQUET . The above lodge held a well-attended installation banquet at Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleet-street , E . C , on Thursday evening , the 7 th instant . Bro . George Wales , W . M ., presided , and in proposing the toast of " The King and Mark Masonry , " alluded to the fact that no previous Sovereign of our Empire had ever begun his or her reign under more auspicious conditions . King Edward VII . had ascended the throne enjoying the
confidence and goodwill of his subjects . Our late Queen had brought about the country ' s present loyalty which stood out so conspicuous in contemporary history , and we might rely upon her son and successor , with his ample gifts and graces , to maintain and , if anything , deepen that loyalty which had been for so long one of England ' s characteristics . The King was no stranger amongst Freemasons , his presence was familiar to them and , as Protector of the Craft , he ( the King ) would do the best in his power for the good of Freemasonry . The toast was drunk with musical honours .
The other toasts which were duly honoured were suitably responded to . During the evening a musical programme was given by popular artistes , including Miss Edith Payne , Madami Cleugh , and Fredk . Haldane . Bro . Willie Wright , P . P . G . Org ., presided at the piano , and Bro . Major T . C . Walls , P . M ., entertained the company with recitation and song .

assistance being given to the Leopold Lodge by the Prosperity , when the tormjr hid no home , and kindly offers were made and accepted from the latter , and he had ever since felt indebted . He had seen and known officers of the several lodges benefitted from instruction derived , and made really good , earnest workers , and he urged every brother to regularly attend , so that their aspirations to offi : e being fulfilled , they might be qualified to discharge their duties as they should be done , and in Bro . Harlow they ha J , which is so necessary , a genial Preceptorwho was indefatigable in his teaching .

Harlow , in reply , said he thanked all heartily for the kind manner in which they had received the toast j he could not but help feeling he was only doing his duty , and it was a loving one , and he deemed it was a proud position to hold , the keynote of their success was the spirit of brotherly love with which they met . He assured the brethren that he looked forward to their Wednesday evenings with a great amount of
pleasure , and trusted that T . G . A . O . T . U . would give him health and strength to continue for many years the Preceptorship . impressed with the ceremony which was so ably rendered . Comps . Lee and Capel acknowledged the toast of " The Visitors . " The M . E . Z . then proposed "The Health of Comps . Cleave , P ; Z ., and Langton , P . Z ., S . E ., " thanking them both for the services they had rendered the chanter . Comp . J . R . Cleave , P . Z ., expressed his gratification at seeing Comp . Goode in the chair , and also at seeing Corrp . West present . He was also pleased at the prosperous state of the chapter . After struggling for some years he was glad to say they had more than turned the corner .
Comp . J . D . Langton , P . Z ., S . E ., said they owed a great deal to Comp . Cleave toe the spirit he had infused into the chapter . It was 14 years since he occupied the chair in this chapter , and he was pleased to see the number ot members increasing . Anything he could do as S . E . would be gladly done . The Janitor's toast concluded the proceedings .

Earl of Carnarvon Lodge , No . 211 . INSTALLATION BANQUET . The above lodge held a well-attended installation banquet at Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleet-street , E . C , on Thursday evening , the 7 th instant . Bro . George Wales , W . M ., presided , and in proposing the toast of " The King and Mark Masonry , " alluded to the fact that no previous Sovereign of our Empire had ever begun his or her reign under more auspicious conditions . King Edward VII . had ascended the throne enjoying the
confidence and goodwill of his subjects . Our late Queen had brought about the country ' s present loyalty which stood out so conspicuous in contemporary history , and we might rely upon her son and successor , with his ample gifts and graces , to maintain and , if anything , deepen that loyalty which had been for so long one of England ' s characteristics . The King was no stranger amongst Freemasons , his presence was familiar to them and , as Protector of the Craft , he ( the King ) would do the best in his power for the good of Freemasonry . The toast was drunk with musical honours .
The other toasts which were duly honoured were suitably responded to . During the evening a musical programme was given by popular artistes , including Miss Edith Payne , Madami Cleugh , and Fredk . Haldane . Bro . Willie Wright , P . P . G . Org ., presided at the piano , and Bro . Major T . C . Walls , P . M ., entertained the company with recitation and song .

He had seen and known officers of the several lodges benefitted from instruction derived , and made really good , earnest workers , and he urged every brother to regularly attend , so that their aspirations to offi : e being fulfilled , they might be qualified to discharge their duties as they should be done , and in Bro . Harlow they ha J , which is so necessary , a genial Preceptorwho was indefatigable in his teaching .

Harlow , in reply , said he thanked all heartily for the kind manner in which they had received the toast j he could not but help feeling he was only doing his duty , and it was a loving one , and he deemed it was a proud position to hold , the keynote of their success was the spirit of brotherly love with which they met . He assured the brethren that he looked forward to their Wednesday evenings with a great amount of
pleasure , and trusted that T . G . A . O . T . U . would give him health and strength to continue for many years the Preceptorship . In conclusion , he thanked the brethren of the Lion and Lamb Lodge for the support they had given the lodge of instruction , from whom they had as very able Assistant Preceptor , Bro .
