M ., who performed his duties in an exemplary manner , culminating in a fine rendering of the installation ceremony , and the presentation to him of a jewel and album as
tangible marks of appreciation from the members . Bro . Albert Fergusson , the newly , installed W . M ., is a popular and energetic member of the lodge . Lodge was opened , minutes confirmed , and the Audit Committee ' s report adopted . Bro . _ W . C . Ullmann was unanimously elected a joining member , and Mr . J . H . The following officers were invested : Bros . A . J . Rippin , S . W . ; R . Fuller Roche , J . W . ; T . Cohu , P . M ., P . P . J . G . W ., Treas . ; J . Smith , P . M ., Sec . j W . I .

Couchman , Tyler . A handsome Past Master ' s jewel was presented to Bro . T . Stokes , I . P . M ., in recognition of his efficient services and as a mark of esteem . The sum of 30 guineas wis voted from the lodge funds to the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys on the list of the W . M . This amount completes the sum necessary to qualify the lodge as Vice-Patron of the Institution . A letter was read from Bro . Abbott , P . M ., who was too unwell to attend , asking to be placed on the country members' list . Lodge was closed , and an excellent banquet followed .
The customary loyal and Masonic toasts were briefly proposed from the chair and heartily honoured . Bro . T . Stokes , I . P . M ., proposed " The Worshipful Master , " and said that although his successor had been installed he had still the privilege of inflicting himself upon them at least once each night . He rose to propose the health of the W . M ., and ventured to say it had never fallen to the lot ot any man to propose the health of a more kindly , genial , and hard-working Master than he had had the honour of installing . Those who
had regularly attended lodges of instruction had seen their W . M . ' s fine work , and those who had not done so had a treat in store . Coming events cast their shadows before , and one initiate had been proposed that evening , and in that ceremony the W . M . would do credit to their dear old lodge . He made one appeal on the W . M . 's behalf , particularly to the officers . They had had a great honour conferred upon them in being appointed , and not only was it a pleasure and an honour , there was a responsibility . The work of a Master depended upon his officers , and it was their duty to make themselves
thoroughly efficient . He appealed to the officers to support the present W . M . as they had supported him . On behalf of the members he wished Bro . Fergusson a happy and successful year of office . Bro . Albert Fergusson , W . M ., thanked the I . P . M . for so kindly proposing the toast , and the brethren for their hearty reception . He could only say that if he had given satisfaction in the past he hoped to be able to do so in the future . He might b : somewhat feeble in expressing his gratitude for the kind things said about him , but this was not due to the absence of kindly feelings . He thanked them sincerely and with all his heart .
Bro . J . H . Robinson , replying for " The Initiate , " expressed his deep gratitude for the reception given him . He was deeply impressed with the ceremony and the ritual which it had been his delight to witness . He had heard it said , and coul 1 fully believe it , that no good man could be a bad Mason . He pledged himself to endeivour to the best of his ability to carry out the promises he had made . The W . M . proposed "The Masonic Charities , " and asked for support for the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys , for which he was representing the lodge as Steward . He had received a telegram from Bro . McLeod regretting he was too unwell to attend .
Bro . T . Stokes , I . P . M ., acknowledged the toast , and thanked the brethren for sending him up as Steward to the recent Festival of the Benevolent Institution with a list of 200 guineas . The lodge must not go back , and he therefore hoped the W . M . would take up a larger amount for the Boys' School . " The Visitors " was next given , the following brethren responding : Bros . Lswis , P . M . ; Boswell , P . M . ; Capt . Fishenden , P . M . ; Harlow , P . M . ; and Bond . Bro . Harlow , P . M ., in his response , thanked the lodge for the cordial support given to the lodge of instruction , of which he was Preceptor .
The W . M . next proposed "The Installing and I . P . M ., " and thanked Bro . Stokes , for services rendered in the installation ceremony . He had th ; pleasure of presenting the I . P . M . with an album , from the officers and initiates , containing their photographs as a small token of their regard , hoping it would remind him of many pleasant evenings spent in the lodge . On the cover was the I . P . M . 's monogram and inside the following inscription was beautifully illuminated : " Presented to W . Bco . Thomas StokesI . P . M . by the officers
, , and initiates during his year of office as W . Master , in token of the esteem and fraternal regard in which he is held by them and all the members of the Lion and Lamb Lod ^ e , No . 192 , and in recognition of the sk < U and ability with which he carried out the dunes of the chair , and the courteous and genial manner in which he presided over tru . fi during the year 1900 . 1 . March 7 th , 1901 . " Bro . Thomas Stokes , I . P . M ., said he hardly knew how to thank them for their he
kindness . He could not thank them sufficiently for their beautiful present , but appreciated their kindness . His guiding star had been the Past Mister ' s jewel , and he did not expect anything else . He also had to thank them for the way they had responded to his appeal for the W . M . ' s list for the Biys' School , which now amount to over £ 223 . "The Past Masters , " "TheTreasurer and Secretary , " and "The Officers" were afterwards duly honoured . 5
An enjoyable musical programme contained items by Miss Annie Swinfen , M ji Annie Wilson , Bro . Musgrove Tufnail , Mr . Albert Cornish , and Bros . Jolly and Canning , were highly complimented on the perfect manner in which the books and accounts were laid before the Auditors , and returner ] thanks . The brethren banqueted in the handsome hall of the building , which Bro . Richardson and his amiable wife had artistically decorated for the occasion . The platform was mass of foliage and flowers , whereon were grouped a select band of musicians , who played selections during the banquet .
Lion and Lamb Lodge , No . 192 . INSTALLATION OF BRO . ALBERT FERGUSSON . PRESENTATIONS TO BRO . THOMAS STOKES , LP . M . The installation meeting of this centenary lodge , held at the Cannon-street Hotel , on the 7 th instant , was well attended and proved a ? successful and enjoyable gathering . The chair during the past year has been worthily occupied by Bro . Thomas Stokes , W .
J . H . Robinson was initiated into Freemasonry . Bro . Albert Fergusson was presented as W . M . elect and impressively installed into the chair by Bro . Thomas Stokes .
