EIGHT HUNDRED GUINEAS FOR A TURNER WATERCOI . OUR . —At Messrs , Christie's picture sale on Saturday , the 9 th instant , the most important of the watercolour drawings was one by J . M . Turner , of Buckfastleigh Abbey , lojin . by isJin ., which was at one time in the collection of the late Mr . Ruskin , and which is engraved by R . Wallis in Turner ' s "Englandand Wales . " It sold for 800 guineas ( Tooth ) .

The Institute , though only founded three years ago , is a healthy and thriving society which has already a long record of good work to its credit . had its own organisation , but there was no body which represented the industry as a whole . This gap has now been efficiently filled by thc Institute .
