Since the days of Raleigh and Queen Itlizabeth , the once considered " pernicious habit" of smoking has so grown upon the English race that it has become not only a luxury , but a component part of our existence . But perhaps in no country has the preference for the cigarette form of tobacco so rapidly developed of late years as in out ownand in consequence there have been so many brands

, thrust upon the market that it is difficult to choose which is the best . We have la . tely , however , tested some produced by the Alexandria Cigarette Company ( Limited ) , who have established themselves at 63 and 64 , New Broad-street , upon which we can express a pronounced and favourable opinion . Their Nourmahls for instance , are par excellence lor delicacy of flavour and aroma , whilst their Houris and Peris are

most happily named ; all the Company ' s brands are , "to put it short , " admirable smoking . There is an old adage that " good wine needs no bush , " and as ardent lovers of the fragrant we arc guilty of no puff in recommending the really palatable specialities presented to the public by the Alexandria Cigarette Company ( Limited ) , of Nexv Broad-street .
