Having received the hearty good wishes for his own health , and continued prosperity to the lodge , the W . M . proceeded to close the lodge , which

ceremony was carried out in a most efficient manner . The brethren , to the number of thirty , then proceeded to the Suffolk Hotel , where Bro . Smith had provided a banquet which was a credit to his skill , and most thoroughly enjoyed by the brethren . The cloth being removed , the VV . M . proceeded to give the usual loyal and Masonic toasts , which he did in a manner that reflected great credit on him and his lodge .

" The Oueen and the Craft " was responded to in thc same hearty manner that Her Majesty ' s name has always deserved in Masonic lodges , and in any other assemblage where those claiming the protection of thc British flag may be congregated together ; and which hearty accord is also given when the name of our R . W . G . M ., H . R . H . the Prince of Wales , is mentioned , which at all Masonic gatherings

includes that of His Royal Highncss ' s Royal partner , the Princess of Wales . "The Pro Grand Master , the Earl of Carnarvon ; thc Deputy Grand Master , the Earl of Lathom ; and the Grand Officers , Present and Past , " also " The Provincial Grand Master of Suffolk , Lcrd Waveney , " came in for Masonic honours , as they all richly deserve j the toasts being given from the chair .

Bro . H . VV . Elves then proceeded with the next toast"The V . W . the D . G . M ., Bro . Rev . C . J . Martyn , and the rest of the Provincial Grand Officers , Present and Past , " and remarked on this occasion the St . Margaret's Lodge was honoured with the presence of more brethren wearing the purple than he had ever seen in the Iodge on previous occasions . He regretted the loss the D . G . M . Iiad sustained ,

and . hoped the time was not far distant when he would be able to pay a visit to Lowestoft , and coupled the name with this toast of the P . G . Registrar . Bro . Elves called on the brethren to give this toast a hearty reception , which those present did in a manner only known to Masons . Bro . Daking responded with a few appropriate remarks , wishing the VV . M . and officers of the lod ^ e a very happy

and prosperous year . Bro . Allez proposed " 'The W . M . ' s Health " in a very neat speech , which was duly responded to . "The Visitors , " which was proposed by Bro . Chambers , came in for the hearty reception that is always accorded to brethren who visit this lodge ; and was responded to by Bros . Cooper , Bullard , Bowes , Lord , and others .

I he next must be considered the toast of the evening , that of " The Installing Master , Bro . Albz , " who although well on for the allotted time on earth , four score years , conducted this important office in a manner which showed how well he had studied every part of the ceremony , and his retentive memory even at this age being equal to the strain put upon it when acting as on this occasion as VV . M .,

Installing Master and D . of C . The toast received a most hearty reception , and Bro . Allez replied in a manner that could scarcely have been expected after such an evening of toil and love . The sister lodge " Unity " was then proposed by the VV . M ., and responded to in such good spirit as tended to show the kindly feeling that existed between the two lodges .

"The Past Masters and Officers" were toasted as usual , and the Tyler ' s toast brought to a close one of the most successful installation meetings that had been held at the St . Margaret's Lodge since its formation . During the evening Bro . Atkinson presided at the piano , and some very excellent songs by Bros . Holden , Bullard , Rowland and others , were greatly enjoyed .
