The installation banquet was afterwards held at the White Hart Hotel , the W . M ., Bro . A . Amand , presiding . The toast of " The Grand Lodge" was responded to by Bros . STOCKER and WESTLAKE .
In acknowledg ing the toast of " The Prov . Grand Master and the Prov . Grand Lodge of Devonshire , " Bro . DAVIE said they were all very glad to come to Okehampton to put the finishing touch to the work they began a year ago . He congratulated them upon the fact that Obedience Lodge was not only in a flourishing condition , but that it had a handsome and commodious lodge room of its own . He hoped that room would be a great stimulus and inducement to Freemasonry in the neighbourhood , and he fslt
that the fact that they had a room of their own was a guarantee of the stability of the lodge . He also heartily congratulated the members on the working of the lodge , and especially the work of Bro . Pollard as Installing Master . The I . P . M ., Bro . POLLARD , gave " The Health of the W . M . " No one , he said , was more worthy of the honour than Bro . Amand , to whom it must be particularly gratifying to be the first Master installed in their new lodge
room . In replying , the W . M . said he regarded the day he became a Freemason as one of the happiest of his life , and that day his happiness was crowned . His heart was with Obedience Lodge , and he was delig hted that that little moorland lodge had not only a habitation of its own , but had had the
honour of receiving so distinguished a company of Freemasons . The toast of ' The Visitors " was given by Bro . C . PIPER . Bros , the Rev . T . RUSSELL , J . R . LORD , and J . B . GOVER replied . Bro . J . C . PIERCE proposed " The Building Committee and Architect . "

CRYSTAL PALACE EXHIBITION—This week the Naval and Military Exhibition at the Crystal Palace enters upon the last month of its existence , as it must be dismantled at the end of September to make room for the Kennel Club ' s annual show of sportinjr and other dogs . Since the opening in May last many additions have been mad * , and now the whole of the north and south naves , together with considerably over a mile of galleries , are filled with exhibits of great interest and educational value .
