MDundas Chapter , No . 1255 . —The regular convocation of thia Chapter waa held at the * Huyshe ICasonio Temple , Plymouth , on Wednesday , the 2 l « t inst . The Chapter was opened in due form s minutes of last meeting confirmed . The Comps . proceeded to tho exaltation of Bro . S . B . Harvoy P . M . 1255 , already accepted . There wero present—Comps . Charles Godtschalk Z ., J . B . Gover P . Z .

P . P . G . P . S . Treas ., W . Bell P . Z ., Iaaao Watts P . Z . as H ., J . Gidley as J ., W . H . Triplet P . G . J . P . S ., John P . Rogers S . E ., S . W . Crimp 1 st A . S ., and several visitors from Sister Chapters . Upon tho conclusion of the exaltation of P . M . Harvey , Comp . Godtsohalk called the attention of the Chapter to the fact , that during his late Stewardship for the Province , on behalf of the Royal Masonio

Benevolent Institution , he had not had tho opportunity of bringing the claims of that Institution before the Chapter afc _ a regular meeting , but that he had adopted what he considered the next host course , viz .: he had individually brought tho matter before their worthy Treasurer , Comp . Bell , out of Chapter , and had mentioned tho matter to the P . Z ., Comp . J . B . Gover . In fact he had

communicated to all connected with the Chapter , that it was his intention to make the Chapter a Life Governor of the Institution , and that if he had their sanction and support , he should enter upon his Stewardship the sum of £ 10 . He scarcely need mention to the Comps . that this list waa handed in to the Secretary of the Institution on the 12 th of Februarv last . This therefore , was the proper time ,

nnder tho circumstances explained for the £ 10 to be voted . He called to the recollection of the Comps ., that the Chapter had been founded last year by himself , with the able assistance of others present , that ha was in the honourable position of the first Z ., and concurrently with this , he had undertaken the Stewardship for the Province , which this year had sent up tho largest amount of any

Province of England ; their Lodges and Chapters had sent up £ 596 ; out of this £ 596 , himself and Bro . Curteis had got together £ 565 . As a matter of form , and with the fullest confidence , he proposed that the snm of £ 10 be voted to the Royal Masonio Benevolent Institution . This being duly seconded by Comp . J . B . Gover , was carried with acclamation . A question having arisen

with a sister Chapter , holding its meetings in this Temple , as to the regular and actual days of meeting of the Dundas Chapter-, Comp . J . B . Gover P . Z . requested that the S . E . might be requested to read the bye laws , in one of which the actual days were named , viz .: —the 1 st Wednesday following the third Monday in March , June , September and December , and these were the days expressed in the petition upon

which the Charter of the Chapter had been granted . Exd . Comp . Watts P . Z . expressed a wish to have a copy of these bye-laws for the good working of a Chapter he was connected with , these bye-laws of Dundas Chapter , as worthy Comp . Watts expressed it , embodying the true principle that should rale in every well regulated Chapter . After the closing , the Comps . retired for the accustomed social half hour .

Tregenna Lodge , No . 1272 , St . Ives , Cornwall . —Tho annual festival of this Lodge was held on Friday , the 23 rd inst ., at the Masonio Rooms , Fore-street . After the formal business was disposed of , the W . M . Bro . the Rev . J . Balmor Jones , P . G . Chaplain of Cornwall , proceeded to install Bro . T . Broking , the W . M . elect , as W . After the dinner the usual Masonic toasta were honoured , aud the brethren separated having spent a very pleasant evening .

Boyal Standard Lodge of Instruction , No . 1298 . — Thia Lodge hold its weekly mooting on Friday , tho 23 rd inst ., at the Castle Tavern , Holloway-road , N . Present—Bros . Eldridge W . M ., Hunter S . W ., Passingham J . W ., Sparrow S . D ., Chant J . D ., Agor I . G ., T . Cull Preceptor , Wright , Yeomans , Shackle , Sheffield , and several othori . The Lodge being opened in due form , tha minutes of tho last meeting were confirmed . The ceremonies of the 1 st and 2 nd

degrees were rehearsed , Bros . Gianella and Yeomans respectively acting aa candidates . Lodge then resumed to the 1 st degree . The 1 st and 4 th sections wero worked by Bro . Cull . Bro . Francis 1598 was elooted a member , and Bro . Hunter W . M . for Friday , 6 th April . The Lodge was then olosed , and adjourned . The 15 sections will be worked in the Lodge on Friday , 27 th April , when Bro . Cull will preside .
